At the core of the lineup is a powerful 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 gasoline engine, supported by a potent electric motor. In the base model, the system delivers a combined output of an impressive 653 hp (480 kW) and 800 Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to all four wheels through the intelligent M xDrive all-wheel drive system and an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission.
Battery and Electric Range
The drive battery has a net capacity of 25.7 kWh, enabling an electric range of up to 76-88 kilometers (WLTP). This makes short everyday drives emission-free without compromising performance on longer journeys. Charging is possible at 7.4 kW, allowing the battery to be fully charged from empty in approximately 4.5 hours.
XM Label – The World's Most Powerful M Model
For those seeking even more power, the XM Label (also known as Label Red) is available, with increased combined output of 748 horsepower and a round 1,000 newton meters of torque. This version accelerates from zero to one hundred in just 3.8 seconds.

Despite its massive curb weight of 2,785 kilograms, the XM offers precise driving dynamics thanks to adjustable damping, active roll stabilization, and rear-wheel steering—a first for M models.
